About Cambridge Train Station

Opened in 1845 as the terminus of the Eastern Counties Railway, Cambridge station was rebuilt in 1847 after a fire and expanded multiple times to handle university traffic.

The current buildings date from 2003, blending modern facilities with traditional design elements.

As a key hub for East Anglia, it serves as gateway to the historic university city.

The station manages heavy student traffic during term times and tourist flows in summer.

Recent upgrades accommodate growing passenger numbers while preserving its role as a major interchange between London, the Midlands and East Anglia.
