About Hyde North Train Station

Built in 1862 as "Gee Cross" station, it was renamed Hyde North in 1955.

The station served Hyde's northern suburbs and local mills.

Unlike Hyde Central, it retains some original features including distinctive brickwork.

Always a secondary station, it survived 20th century rationalization due to residential demand.

The station's quiet character reflects its role as a local stop rather than a transport hub.

Recent housing developments have increased usage, but it remains one of Greater Manchester's lesser known stations.
