About St Ives Train Station

Opened in 1847 as part of the East Anglian rail network, St Ives station served this historic market town on the River Great Ouse.

The original station building showcases classic Victorian railway architecture with its distinctive brickwork and arched windows.

The station became vital for transporting agricultural goods from the surrounding Fenland region.

Though services reduced in the 1960s, it survived as a commuter link to Cambridge.

Recent years have seen increased passenger numbers, with the station maintaining its traditional charm while serving modern transport needs in this picturesque Cambridgeshire town.
